Johns Hopkins University is set to receive a monumental $1 billion donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies, significantly expanding access to medical education for a large number of students.
The generous gift will cover tuition costs for most students from families earning less than $300,000 annually. Students from families with incomes below $175,000 will benefit from the full scholarship, which also includes coverage for living expenses.
This substantial contribution continues Bloomberg Philanthropies' commitment to Johns Hopkins University. In 2018, the organization made a historic $1.8 billion donation aimed at alleviating financial barriers for undergraduate students.
This latest donation underscores Bloomberg Philanthropies' ongoing effort to enhance educational opportunities and support future medical professionals.
