A Lilburn, Georgia man is facing a federal charge after allegedly issuing death threats against Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her husband.

According to authorities, Aliakbar Mohammad Amin is accused of sending a series of threatening text messages between March 29 and April 1 of this year, targeting Gabbard and her spouse.

One of the messages reportedly stated, “Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear.” Another warned that Gabbard was “living on borrowed time” and declared that her residence “is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing.”

Amin has been formally charged with transmitting threats in interstate commerce.
