Google Unveils Googlebook, A New Line Of AI Laptops

On Tuesday, Google introduced Googlebook, a new lineup of laptops powered by Gemini, the company’s flagship AI model family.

Google says Googlebook is the first laptop designed specifically around Gemini, giving users more personalized and proactive AI assistance. The new devices are expected to launch this fall.

The laptops will also feature deeper integration with Android phones, allowing users to run mobile apps directly from their Googlebook. Users will also be able to quickly access files stored on their phones through the laptop’s file browser, making it easier to search, view, and insert files across devices.

The launch comes 15 years after Google debuted the Chromebook, the low-cost browser-based laptop that became widely used in schools and workplaces. While Google has stopped short of officially calling Googlebook a replacement, the new devices are expected to serve as the successor to the Chromebook line.
