Ubisoft Co-Founder Claude Guillemot Dies In Plane Crash

Claude Guillemot, co-founder of Ubisoft, died in a plane crash on June 19 that also claimed the life of another person. He was 69 years old.

Ubisoft confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was "deeply saddened to learn of the death of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the group and chairman of Guillemot Corp., in an accident." The company added, "Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

Claude Guillemot helped found Ubisoft in 1986 alongside his four brothers, including current CEO Yves Guillemot. Under the Guillemot family's leadership, Ubisoft grew into one of the world's largest video game publishers, known for franchises such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
