8 Crew Members Killed After B-52 Bomber Crash at California’s Edwards Air Force Base

Eight crew members were killed when a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress crashed shortly after taking off from Edwards Air Force Base northeast of Los Angeles on Monday morning.


Officials said the bomber was conducting a routine test mission when it departed the base at approximately 11:20 a.m. local time. The crash is now being treated as a recovery operation.


The incident is the deadliest crash involving a B-52 bomber since 1982.
