Rex Heuermann, the Manhattan architect linked to the Gilgo Beach murders, has been sentenced to multiple life terms in prison.
Heuermann previously pleaded guilty in April to charges connected to seven killings and admitted responsibility for the death of an eighth victim, marking a major development in one of New York’s most high-profile serial murder cases.
He was arrested in 2023 after investigators built a case using extensive forensic and digital evidence, including DNA traces recovered from a discarded pizza crust found in a Midtown Manhattan trash can. Prosecutors said the evidence tied him to a series of murders spanning years along Long Island’s Gilgo Beach area.
