Barack Obama Presidential Center Opens Up In Chicago

After more than a decade in development, the Barack Obama Presidential Center will officially open on Thursday on Chicago's South Side.

The grand opening is expected to feature a concert, celebration, and appearances from four current and former U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden.

The $850 million, 19-acre campus was first announced in 2015 and has gradually taken shape in Jackson Park near the University of Chicago. In addition to the museum, the site includes a playground, a public library, and a sledding hill, marking a major milestone for a project years in the making.
