SpaceX, the aerospace and technology company founded by Elon Musk, has priced its initial public offering at $135 per share, giving the company a valuation of approximately $1.77 trillion and making it the largest IPO ever.
Musk, who currently owns about half of SpaceX, will retain significant control of the company after the offering. According to the filing, he will hold 82.4% of the company's voting power through a combination of regular and special high-voting shares.
At the IPO price, SpaceX is expected to raise roughly $74.4 billion. The valuation is more than 40% higher than the company's reported $1.25 trillion valuation earlier this year.
The previous record for the largest IPO was held by Saudi Aramco, which was valued at about $1.7 trillion and raised more than $29 billion when it went public in 2019.
