Four Killed In Belgian School Bus Crash

Two children were among four people killed Tuesday morning after a school bus was struck by a train at a railway crossing in northern Belgium. Authorities said the bus appeared to drive through a crossing barrier before the collision.

Officials in the town of Buggenhout said the crash happened around 8 a.m. local time and described it as a “serious traffic accident.” According to prosecutors, the victims included two students, ages 12 and 15, a 27-year-old bus attendant, and the 49-year-old driver.

Five other children were seriously injured in the crash and remain hospitalized in stable condition, officials said.
